Kali Czekaj began dancing at the age of nine at The Moving Company School of Dance, where she trained in jazz, ballet, contemporary, street styles, and tap. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from The Ohio State University, specializing in Performance, Choreography, and Costume Design. While at OSU, she was deeply involved in department concerts and student-led projects and spent several seasons dancing for the OSU Club Dance Team. During her college years, Kali performed professionally in Cedar Point’s Luminosity show, studied and performed across Denmark with OSU’s study abroad Dance Denmark program, and completed the Summer Session at Broadway Dance Center in New York City. After graduating, she returned to NYC to complete BDC’s Professional Semester, training with top industry professionals and performing in multiple dancer and choreographer showcases. After a five-year hiatus from the stage, Kali rediscovered her love for dance through Cleveland Dance Project and is overjoyed to reignite her artistic spark. She’s so honored to join CDP Company this season and can’t wait to create, connect, and perform with this inspiring community.
